Ah, the south...

Wow, I had managed to forget what the south is like since the last time I was here. It was fascinating watching how there really does seem to be a different culture out here. Right now I'm just having the "whoa" reaction. I may post more thoughts about what I see later. A quick trip to Wal-Mart this evening was fascinating.

In other news, I have a remarkably neat Hyundai Elantra to tool around in. It has a neat auxiliary MP3 input for the radio (hence my trip to Wally-World to obtain a necessary cable) and a sunroof! Yeah, I'm easy to please, let me play my music and give me a sunroof and I'm good. I'm definitely not ready to trade-in Betty, but I'm surprised at how neat this thing is.

So after a long day of travel, I am now sitting in my hotel room getting ready to do a bit more work before calling it a night and pondering what if anything I may do outside of work this week. I'm thinking I'll make a point of touring the base (or at least our parts of it) at some point, and maybe check out some of the military museums. Not quite sure what I'll want to do other than that though (I still need to get into the hang of going out and doing stuff on my own in places like this... i.e. not a place I'd go out of my way to come visit if I wasn't being paid to ;)
