Mom & Dad

My mom & dad at my dad's 70th birthday party/dinner last night.

Wow, I have trouble believing I'm in my 30s, I can't quite get my head around the idea that my dad is 70.

The evening was good and we had a great time, unfortunately the crap from last week oozed over to this week and I'm already dying for Friday. Hopefully my plans for this weekend don't fall through. I've been looking forward to getting out of town (even just for the weekend) for a while now.

wow... he looks damned good for 70! based on that pic, i'd have estimated late 50s.
I'm going to have to show him this thread. I think he'd get a kick out of that since he's definitely not feeling like he's in his 50s any more.
Anyone ever told you that you look very much like your father? And, yes, he looks pretty good for 70!

I go through the same emotions when my mother's birthday rolls around. She just had her 74th birthday. I'm still shocked by that. She goes through the same sort of emotional issue as well on my birthday because she can't believe how old her baby is!!! LMAO. Pretty funny that both sides get it.
Opinions vary on the similarity issue. I can definitely see a good bit of my father in me, but I can see why people might not always see it when the personalities come into play.

Now that you mention it, I think my folks do that for all of us kids too. It's hard for them to believe that their oldest daughter is almost 50 and their youngest son is already in his 30s.
aww! your parents are eternally youthful. :)
Heh, you haven't seen them when they get cranky. Then they really show their age ;).

Thanks though, I think they'll get a kick out of knowing that people think they don't look ancient (even if my dad always complains about how he feels it).
Heh, he'd definitely get a kick out of hearing that!
