I had meant to write something about the rain yesterday, but I found myself either a) drying off, or b) waiting for it to finish so I could finish changing Molly's alternator. I had planned on doing that this weekend but the auto parts store couldn't get one in from their warehouse until Monday so I had to wait.
I swear, it felt like the powers that be had something against me yesterday. I tried to get the darn thing changed three times and had to stop twice due to extreme downpours. Offically we only got about 0.02" (at the airport, which is apparently the dryest place in El Paso) but I would say we got a good 2 inches or so in about 1.5 hours where I was at. I ducked inside after the first bit of rain but the second time around I was about halfway into the project so I had to stay out and get soaked while I put away things that shouldn't get wet.
It was actually kind of fun. I was completely soaked within about 10 minutes and at that point I just went for a little walk. It had been a while since I did anything like that. Granted this has a lot to do with the fact that it almost never rains, but still. There's just something nice about running around outside, getting soaked to the bone and then peeling wet clothes off.... granted all that would have been more fun to do with someone else around, but fond memories and all that. I enjoyed our little storm (complete with thunder and lightning and strong winds). It also meant that I got to cut out of work early. So all in all it was a good day/afternoon (oh, and the alternator did in fact get changed later that afternoon once the rain stopped).
