Time for new toys....

I just spent the last 2 hours trying to get the LJ posting software for Palm OS to work with no success. The packages they have just don't seem to be capable of compiling....

This is annoying. I think its time for me to seriously consider getting an IPAQ so I can run linux on it and forget about this silly PalmOS software stuff. When I got my first Pilot, I was all thrilled because I thought I would be able to sit down, crank out some C code and make nifty programs. Turns out its a little more complicated than that and that's annoying.

Today was reasonably cool. I had to deal with a number of minor things all day, but I did get to go by the office with the cute girl again so that was a nice bright spot of the day. I also did some computer work, so that's a nice bit of extra $$ which is always a good thing.

Very true words....

When asked about the US's ability to look at foreign policy long term, she said:

"I think the U.S. is the most generous country in the world with the world's shortest attention span."

This said by the former Secretary of State Madeline Albright at a speech last week.

Some amusing geek headlines...

(from Wired News Daily)

How Safe Are Your Illegal Drugs? With Federal narcotics squads having mostly turned their attention from the war on drugs to the war on terrorism, the United States is defenseless against people tainting the illegal drug supply.

Ummm... Ok, so who was doing the quality control on the drugs before, and how does one get THAT job? ;)

Who Counts Better, MSN or Yahoo ? MSN is the most popular destination on the Web. No, wait, Yahoo still is. Statistics support both claims, pointing out one problem with statistics.

Well it certainly isn't Intel ;)
