Mr. Fix-It

I'm feeling good today.

Despite a very very late start to the day, I've managed to make some headway in things. I'll hopefully have at least a few pictures up later. I've decided to hold off trying to execute that brilliant plan that I was babbling about yesterday. Partially this is because the bedroom seems a bit too small now that I'm looking at it and partially because I'm not convinced that I could actually do it myself the way I was planning on doing it. I think I could pull it off, but I'd need to come up with a better way to do it. Yes, I am being purposefully vague, :-p.

So, now I'm debating whether I want to deal with whipping up a bunch of spackle to deal with some wall defects, or just putting up the primer and seeing how I feel about it once it's up.... blah. Decisions decisions. This is definitely the kind of work where a bit of moral (or amoral) support would be quite useful. Once I've done it a few times I won't be quite so fidgety about it, but this is the first time I try something like this in my house so I'm very waffly about the steps etc...

Anyways, breaks over, back to work.

*update* 17:10 - I declare the spackling done. Now I just need to go clean out the spackling tools so they don't get nasty. I'm hoping I can wash the walls and put down the primer today. Then, hopefully, tomorrow I can leisurely do all the actual painting.

*update* 22:45 - Hmmm primering over pink and dark blue walls is not as easy as I had anticipated. Well ok it's actually quite easy and it's going quite well, but it's taking quite a bit more time (and primer) than I thought it would. I gave most of the room 1 solid coat of primer (and I am happy to report that most of the paint ended up on the walls and not on myself, or the cats) but it looks like I'll have to hit it with another coat in the morning. I hope to take a stab at painting tomorrow afternoon.
