Well, so much for my great plans to go vacuum and steam clean the duplex today. I picked up the new steam cleaner at Best Buy and I headed out to Lowe's to make copies of the duplex's keys, but while I was there my dad called to let me know he managed to get his truck stuck out in the sticks (he forgot that his truck's 4 wheel drive broke when he was out hunting last year). So, I had to trudge out to the far east side of the the county (I actually left the city, but not the county). Since it was drizzly and I picked a route that had an unexpected amount of road work, it took for-ev-er
to get out there (we own some land out East of El Paso, neat Tornillo Tx which is great for off roading... if your vehicle has 4 wheel drive capabilities).
It took about 90 minutes to get out there, plus about 30 minutes to get him unstuck (and in the process we managed to bend one of Molly's emergency chain loops on her trailer hitch and the front bumper on my dad's truck (he was really really
stuck)). Eh, no biggie, a few shots with a sledge hammer and it should be straightened out again. My little mule is tough.
It was fun getting to go out off roading a bit and getting to bail my dad out from the situation, but I could have done without the 3 hours of driving to and from the spot today. That pretty much put me back her with just enough time to get cleaned up and head out with pfjunkie
to see Hitch. Hopefully it'll be a good flick, I definitely need something entertaining to watch right now. I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't get to do the steam cleaning today though. That means I'll probably have to go deal with it tomorrow (i.e. Saturday, i.e. my day off). Oh well. At least I was productive today.
