... I should have stayed in bed this morning.

My glasses escaped from my jacket pocket in front of my house this morning.

Today is trash day.

Garbage trucks are heavy.

This is the result:

The scary thing is that they look to be fix-able, maybe. I'm going to swing by Sam's land shortly to see what can be done for them. At worst, I could re-use the lenses (which are 100% un-scratched) with a new frame.

Update: Well, Wal-Mart/Sam's wins today's award for meg-ginormous coroporation that's made me happy. The girl working at the optical center gave me a new set of frames and a new case and it only took about 15 minutes. She didn't even charge me for any of that. I am very pleased.

While I was waiting, I spotted a pair of glasses/sunglasses that I liked so I went ahead and ordered them. How is it that I went along fine for 15 years only having one pair of glasses and one pair of sunglasses at a time and yet all of a sudden I need to have back-ups to my back-ups.

i wanna get new glasses too! i've got the same ones since college & both connie & my friend meghan just got trippy new trendy frames. mine makes me look BORRRRRING! they're alway way behind my prescription. i'd fear driving around in 'em.

Heh, I'm anti-trendy when it comes to things like glasses. Even though I just bought a couple of new ones, they look remarkably like my older ones (small oval wide frames). I think I'm going to have to remember what you said about your prescription next time I visit your neck of the woods :-p
