That was 649 days ago. Not so long ago, I was looking back on past entries and I was kind of surprised to see the turns that life has taken. Let's see. My father scared us all by ending up in the hospital almost a year and a half ago. He's better now and his situation served as a wake up call to me. It's been slow going, but I'm hopefully going to avoid being in his shoes when I'm his age. In more cheerful news, I became an uncle to Isabella Angelique Morales a little over a year ago (and I'll become her Godfather next Saturday). I bought my house 9 months ago (and moved in a couple of weeks later). We spent a good portion of the last year building several duplexes and a house that I designed. Most interestingly, I found a rather amazing girl 3 months ago. All things considered, life is pretty good right now. It's not 100% perfect, but then again, what fun would that be? ;).
I wish I had some really deep and meaningful stuff to say on my 1,000th post. Looking back on things, I'm just amazed at how everything has worked out. There is no way I would have guessed that I'd be where I am when I started this version of my journal. Looking even farther back, to the beginning of my original journal, I'm surprised at how quickly 4.5 years have gone by and by how much has happened in that time. I've not only seen my life change, but the entire world has changed. It's been a busy and eventful bunch of years that's for sure.
I don't know where life will take me in the next few years and the next 1,000 posts, but right now I'm really eager to see where things go and what comes next. In the meantime, I'd like to thank all my friends, both real and virtual, near and far. You guys have made this particular little adventure, and my life in general a much cooler experience. I'm really glad to know all of you and I hope to continue to share my adventures and experiences with you for a long time to come.
Now, as usual, it's late and I'm tired, so I'm going to bed.
