the walls came tumbling down...

They're tearing down an old hospital in downtown El Paso. I drove by the site recently and I came across this sad looking piece:

The rest of the site is pretty much rubble and a pit where the basement used to be. It's a good location that had remained unused because there were concerns about how to remediate the asbestos in the hospital, but someone finally figured out what to do and in just a few months the entire 6 or 7 story building which covered a city block was reduced to that.

I'm curious to see what they end up putting up there now that the demolition is almost complete.


from what I understand, they're gonna build offices to house the county's accounting/something dept and a few other things.
