Stupid computer viruses

I wasted most of the day at work waiting for IT to fix my computer (i.e. reinstall XP and all the standard programs) because of a stupid virus. It wasn't their fault that it took a while to fix, I fully blame the asshole who programmed the virus in the first place. Still though, regardless of who I'm annoyed at, I didn't get anywhere near as much work done as I would have liked today and I still ended up staying late. I hadn't quite realized until today just how much of my job requires use of a computer, I literally couldn't do 95% of the things I had on my to-do list. If this ever happens again I am definitely remembering to bring my personal laptop with me so I can at least do email using the webmail interface.

In less aggravating news, I had dinner with some old college friends and it was really great reminiscing about the generally-good old days. It's hard to believe it's been so long, but it's great meeting up with old friends and falling back into the same rhythms and seeing how much we've changed and how much we've stayed the same.

That about sums up my day. One more day and I start my 2nd attempt at my pseudo-project 365. and in completely inscrutable news, it is now T - 9 days 21 hours :-D... not that I'm counting.

  • Meet Dargo....

Pixel and I missed having a little black cat around so I went to the pound Saturday afternoon and I found this little guy in need of a new home:…

  • RIP Morticia a/k/a Ninja Cat :-(

My little black cat died tonight. It was a sudden and surprising end to a great little cat. I'm doing ok, but I will definitely miss that…

  • Still alive!

Yes, it's true, I am still alive. Nothing particularly earth shattering has been going on lately, I've just been busy with work and then coming home…
