A Blast from the Past...

The subject says it all.

I got up kinda late, had leftover pizza for breakfast while watching random cartoons and home improvement shows. Watched The Road Warrior then I finished up revision three of the floorplan for that house and went by my folk's place to drop it off along with a couple of movies (I'm phasing out my video collection with DVDs so when I buy new DVDs of movies I already have I give them to my dad, this works out nicely because my folks never rent or buy movies on their own and we tend to have comparable taste in movies). They weren't home so hung out a while waiting to see if they'd show. I worked on the ladies a bit, cleaned a few things here and there, checked to make sure they where ok and then since my folks still hadn't gotten home I decided to be useful and I finally brought home about 1/3-1/2 of the old boxes of stuff I had left at their place. My mom had been bugging me about it for a while so this was a good start to the final moving our process (this will probably trash my plans of being done putting stuff away by the first days of spring.

So, you might be wondering, "What kind of stuff?" Believe it or now, toys mostly. Yes, toys. as in Transformers, Hot Wheels, Go-Bots, G.I. Joes, Voltron and a host of other random merchandising from 80 kids TV. Followed closely by random books and assorted magazines and papers. I'm probably going to throw out most of the old magazines and papers, but the books should fill out my bookcases quite nicely (I may even need more bookcases soon, yikes). I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all the toys though. I'm definitely keeping a lot of them, especially the ones that are still in good shape. They'll make a nice addition to the ones I already cleaned up and put up in my office. The ones that are missing lots of parts I'll probably give to my nephew so that he can rummage through them and see if there's anything there he likes. It was rather cool to spend all afternoon sifting through toys and finding all the parts for several of them etc... Totally fun in a goofy way.

Oh, and to top everything off, my folks got home while I was busy with the toys at my place and my dad actually called to let me know that he really liked 2 of the revisions of the floorplans that I'd come up with. Considering how he rarely gives compliments or praise that pretty much made my month. Especially after the argument on Friday (that was mostly smoother over after a couple of hours when we finally sat down and talked about it, I just didn't get a chance to post about it earlier).

Days like this should happen more often.
